An excellent program on Education and Career Guidance organized by the Mandal

It was Sunday morning till after noon on 15h April, 2007 at the Conference Hall of the Ahmedabad Branch of the WIRC of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, that a large gathering of parents and students of our Mandal were sharing their experience and feelings over a sumptuous lunch after a marathon 4 hour conference and presentaions.

The event was aimed at providing understanding and guidance to both the parents and students who are at the cross road of their life and have to decide career option that would shape their entire life.

Mr. Chandramauli Bhatt and Mr. Hemang Patel from Endeavors Careers, Mr. Dharmesh Shah of Good Wind Travels and Mr. Nitin Parekh of Ashima Limited gave excellent talks and shared their own experience to guide the audience make right choice at the right time.

Over three hours, they all together covered vast spectrum of topics ranging from preparing for competitive examinations, check list for foreign study, role of parents on shaping careers of their wards to basic information on various career options after SSC, HSC and graduation.

Towards the end a full panel of experts consisting of Principal Shri M. N. Patel from L.D. Engineering College, Dr. C. S. Sharma Head & Professor, Physiology Department, Government Dental College, and  Shri Yamal Vyas, an eminent Chartered Accountant as well as a spokes person for B.J.P. in addition to the speakers replied to all the issues raised by the audience in the open session.

Shri Rajni M Shah moderated the Open House session.

Dr. Ketan Shah (Linch) and CA Uday Shah (Dholasan) took painstaking efforts to make the program a memorable one. Dr. Ketan played the role of host very ably and CA Uday Shah proposed a vote of thanks.

Our young and energetic member Suarabh Jitendra Shah (Kaiyal) , new joinee Viral Lalbhai Shah (Dhinoj) lent praiseworthy support to the ever young and veteran Secretary Shri C. T. Shah, (Moti Dau). Our Vice President Shri Parvin Mehta (Boriyavi), Joint Secretaries Shri Ashwin Mehta (Mehsana) and Shri Rajendra K. Shah (Ambasan) and  Committee Members Shri Bipin Shah (Kaiyal), Shri Pankaj V Shah (Langhnaj) and Shri Pradip Anant Shah (Kanthravi) remained present through out and graced the occasion.

Special thanks to all the students and parents, more than 250 in number who displayed tremendous discipline despite failure of air-conditioning system for almost an hour and showed their keen interest for the good of their children. It was indeed heartening to note that till 1.45 in the after noon, no body was ready to leave and they all almost forgot their lunch ! In return, the Mandal promised them a DVD with the full coverage of all the talks and presentations as well as a guide to all the questions raised at the open house session.

I am indeed happy and feel elated that my dream program brought the desired impact and each one present had some thing precious to carry with them in addition to a gentle smile on the face and some relief from the tension they all used to carry along.
